37. Dale Earnhardt Hours Before His Death

Ralph Dale Earnhardt Sr. was an American professional auto racing driver. Earnhardt began his career in 1975 in the World 600 as part of the Winston Cup Series. In 2001, Earnhardt stepped into his legendary #3 black race car to compete at the Daytona 500 race.

Martin Luther King Jr. was an American Christian minister who became the most famous leader in the Civil Rights Movement from 1955 until his assassination in 1968.

At 6:05 P.M. on Thursday, 4 April 1968, Martin Luther King was shot dead while standing on a balcony outside his second-floor room at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. This picture was taken the day before his assassination, depicting Martin Luther King, Jr. standing at the same spot where he would be shot dead the following day.
